What to Expect from a One-on-One Xero Online Training Session
Thinking about booking a Xero training session or looking for some hands-on bookkeeping support, but not sure what’s involved? Here’s what to expect when you book a personalised one-on-one session with Love Your Books.
It starts with a quick chat
Before any training is booked, we begin with a complimentary quick phone call. This gives us a chance to understand your goals, the areas of Xero you’re struggling with and what you’d like to get out of the session. We’ll ask a few questions about the issues you’re facing and your top priorities to make sure training is the right fit.
When training isn't quite the right starting point
Sometimes, what seems like a need for training is actually a sign that something's gone awry in the setup or use of your Xero file. If that’s the case, we’ll suggest starting with a separate Xero Health Check Review. This involves a diagnostic review of your file to check for structural issues, common errors, or missing processes and recommend the resolutions. Once that’s sorted, we can follow up with targeted training based on a clean, reliable setup.
Your one-hour session
Our one-on-one Xero training sessions are delivered via Google Meet (video call) in a one-hour format. You’ll share your screen so we can walk you through the specific areas you want to learn, step-by-step. If it’s easier, we’ll switch to our own demonstration file to show you exactly how something works before you try it in your own system.
These sessions are interactive, not a lecture. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions throughout, and we’ll tailor the content on the fly to suit your pace and needs.
After the session
Once the session wraps up, you’ll receive:
A video recording of the session
A summary transcript with key takeaways
A list of any action items discussed
You’ll finish the session with greater clarity and confidence, and a personalised plan for what to focus on next.
How much does it cost?
Your first session is booked for a one-hour minimum at our standard training rate of $165, including GST. If we need extra time, you are charged only for the additional minutes we spend together at the same hourly rate.
After that, you can book follow-up calls whenever you need them. Whether it’s extra training, a pre-BAS check-in, or help fixing a specific issue you only pay for the time we spend together, even if it’s just 10 minutes. No minimum applies after your first session.
No upselling. No pressure. We’re not taking on new full-service bookkeeping clients, so we won’t try to sell you on ‘done for you bookkeeping services’. The goal is to build your confidence and capability so you can handle your own bookkeeping, knowing you’ve got someone to turn to when you need a hand.
